About the Game

2048 is the addictive sliding-tile puzzle played on a 4x4 grid. Swipe to slide every tile at once; when two equal tiles collide they merge into their sum, and a new tile appears after every move. Plan your merges, keep your biggest tile in a corner, and chain doublings from 2 all the way to the legendary 2048 tile — then keep going for an even higher score.

Basic Rules

1. 1The board is a 4x4 grid; you start with two low-value tiles.
2. 2Swipe up, down, left or right to slide every tile as far as it will go.
3. 3Two tiles with the same number merge into one tile with their sum when they collide.
4. 4Every move that changes the board spawns a new tile (a 2 or a 4) in a random empty cell.
5. 5Each merge adds the value of the resulting tile to your score.
6. 6Reach the 2048 tile to win — and keep playing for a higher score.
